Trumpetfish are elongated, pipe-shaped fish belonging to the family Aulostomidae. They are known for their stealthy hunting techniques, where they blend with their surroundings and ambush prey with a sudden strike. These fish are often found in coral reefs and rocky habitats.
There are three recognized species of trumpetfish:
Atlantic Trumpetfish (Aulostomus maculatus)
Chinese Trumpetfish (Aulostomus chinensis)
West Atlantic Trumpetfish (Aulostomus strigosus)
